Public Notice: No Solicitors in Whitewater – Beware of Driveway Work Offers
The City of Whitewater prohibits unsolicited solicitors (door-to-door sales/peddling) per city code.
Reports from nearby areas note solicitors offering driveway surface services 3+ large trucks with California plates.
Possible Red Flags:
- Unsolicited "leftover materials" offers
- Low quotes, then added charges
- Pressure for large cash upfront
- Out-of-state plates, no local info
- Quick/poor-quality work
Residents: Do NOT engage or hire on the spot. Decline immediately—our no-solicitors rule supports refusing them. Inform them we do not allow solicitors without clearance from the city. Get estimates only from licensed local contractors.
If approached:
- Say no, close the door. Tell them we have a no-solicitors policy in our town.
- Note vehicle/plate details.
- Report to Butler County Sheriff non-emergency: (316) 320-1294 (or 911 if needed).
